The Reins

Selected for The 34 Gallery’s Film Noir open call.

The rain has taken the road behind it, but not the evidence. A saddled horse walks alone under the streetlights, head down, reins dragging on the wet pavement. Whoever was in that saddle is gone. The horse does not explain.
